How are photographs selected?
Photographs will be selected by a panel of judges known as "the jury". The jury will review all submitted photographs and select the one's that best capture the beauty and charm of Hudson, Ohio. They will be looking for a cross section of subject matter as well as four seasons. Artistic perspective and photo quality will also be taken into consideration.
Who is on the jury?
The jury was selected from a cross section of Hudson Residents who have experience with art, photography, or are lifelong residents of Hudson. The jury members are: Debbie Currin, Molly Logan, Mike Coduto, Pete McDonald, Gretchen Bierbaum and Tom Vince.
Will the jury know who has submitted the photographs?
No, the jury will be "blind" to who submitted the photograph.
Where will "Hudson Ohio" coffee table picture books be sold?
The books will be sold exclusively at the Learned Owl Bookstore in Hudson. The estimated retail price for the book will be $39.95 and books may be reserved by contacting the Learned Owl in advance. (See link on home page.)
Are prints accepted for submission?
No, the only photographs accepted will be electronic versions (.jpeg, .gif, .tif, .png, .eps). If you have a hard copy (print) it must scanned in first and then uploaded.
When will the book be available for purchase?
We anticipate the book to be available by Spring of 2010.
Will the photographer be recognized?
Yes, under each photograph selected for inclusion into the book, the name of the photographer or person who submitted the photograph will be listed as well as a description of the photograph.
What is the deadline for photograph submission?
Photographs may be submitted up until September 13th 2009. (Deadline was extended !)
